Today, consumerism and focus on the importance of sustainable consumption is a key subjectof research, which is becoming increasingly important as a scientific problem. Responsibleand sustainable consumption is a major aspect of sustainable development, which depends onlong-term economic growth proportionate to social and environmental needs. In fact, recentdefinitions of sustainability in the form of the three principles of the environment, society andeconomy indicate economic, social and environmental stress factors. In this connection, oneof the key contributors to responsible and sustainable consumption is the type of media usedby people. Accordingly, this study aimed to investigate the social media consumption impacton responsible and sustainable consumption in three environmental, social and economic as-pects. The method used in this study was a survey and data were collected by questionnaires,as the sample (cluster sampling) under study consisted of ۳۸۴ people aged ۱۵-۶۴. Study hy-potheses were also analyzed by Pearson Correlation Test and using SPSS Software. PearsonCorrelation Test indicated that there was a negative and reverse correlation between the con-sumption of social media and the economic aspect of responsible and sustainable consump-tion, i.e., the more social media consumption, the less responsible and sustainable consump-tion will be economically.
