چکیده مقاله:

Today there is a great request for flexible fluorescent materials in medical and industrial fields. In this regard, strontium tungstate (SWO) is a perspective kind of novel scintillator due to its useful features such as high density, large Z, and efficient scintillation output. In this work, SWO nanopowders (NPs) were successfully synthesized via the co-precipitation method. Synthesized NPs were embedded in a polymer matrix (PVA) to form a composite film. Results from XRD, FTIR, FESEM, and EDAX, verified the successful synthesis of pure and doped SWO nanoparticles with the mean size of approximately ۳۵–۴۵ nm. The luminescence properties of the synthesized NPs were examined under UV radiation. SWO: Y nanoparticles exhibited the most intense emission in the blue-green range compared to the pure SWO sample. The scintillation response of the prepared composite films against alpha irradiation (۲۴۱Am source) was studied. The highest absolute efficiency (ε) was obtained for SWO: Y composite film (۸۰%) which has promising applications in flexible and transparent optical detectors.
