چکیده مقاله:

Flaunt is an attribute that, despite its negative charge in Persian literature, is sometimes condemned and sometimes praised in Islamic sources. This incident has created some ambiguity in its valuation. It seems that this ambiguity is caused by the distinction that Shariah had in mind between the types of self-presentation. Therefore, in this research, by examining this hypothesis, an attempt has been made to examine the types of self-presentation in Islamic sources, its valuation in different situations and circumstances. Based on this, after the concept of flaunt and concepts close to it in Islamic sources, the types of flaunt based on the individual's intention were classified into ۵ categories: hypocritical, fame-seeking, superiority-seeking, identity-seeking, and missionary, and its value was determined based on verses and traditions. In this way, it should be said that flaunt by itself and by its nature has no value, and what gives it value is an attribute that is attributed to it according to the intention of the subject. Finally, in this article, the common examples of flaunt in the five mentioned categories were extracted and the value of each was expressed according to the intention of the subject. According to the obtained results, it seems that all kinds of reprehensible flaunts ultimately lead to supremacy.
