چکیده مقاله:
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is a prevalent mental health condition characterized by excessive, uncontrollable worry about everyday issues, impacting approximately ۶.۸ million adults in the United States. This disorder disrupts daily functioning, leading to diminished quality of life, social isolation, and increased healthcare costs. Current treatment strategies include pharmacological interventions and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Medications such as SSRIs and SNRIs are commonly used to manage symptoms by altering neurotransmitter levels, though they come with potential side effects and do not address underlying causes. CBT, on the other hand, focuses on identifying and modifying cognitive distortions that contribute to anxiety, offering long-term benefits by equipping individuals with effective coping mechanisms. Both treatment approaches have demonstrated efficacy, but an integrative approach combining medication and CBT may offer enhanced symptom relief. Future research should explore personalized treatment options and additional therapies to further improve outcomes for individuals with GAD
