The Prevalence Of Nomophobia And The Style Of Using Smartphones In Mashhad Students

Nomophobia, or no mobile phone phobia, one of the disorders caused by the use of smartphones, which is define as ‘‘the fear of being out of mobile phone contact. The purposes of this study included investigate the prevalence of Nomophobia in Mashhad university students. a sample of ۲۸۳ students were included in to the study (۹۲ males (۳۲.۴%) and ۱۹۱ females (۶۷.۳%)). The mean age was ۲۲ ± ۲.۴۸ ranging from ۱۸ to ۳۰ years. Participant was selected by cluster sampling method and completed NMP-Q. data was input to SPSS and frequency, means, correlations and t-student was calculated. According to data, ۵۳.۷% of participants was obtain score over than means. Moreover, the nomophobia total score has a negative correlation with age (r = -.۱۸۹; p<۰.۰۱) and there was a positive correlation between nomophobia and much of use(r = ۰.۲۸۹) and checking the phone (r = ۰.۲۰۰). The most reason to use of mobile phone include, Accessibility to internet (۹۴%), social media use (۹۰%), massage and calling to family and friends (۶۴%) and listen to music (۵۸%). The most situation to use the mobile phone are when alone (۷۳%), on waiting (۶۴%), on public transference (۵۸%) and on break between classes (۵۶%).
