چکیده مقاله:
In competitive sports, injuries pose significant challenges to athletes, impacting their physical and psychological well-being. Among the most common injuries are those affecting the ankle joint, particularly grade I partial tears of the ankle ligament. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of proposed rehabilitative exercises in enhancing functional recovery from grade I partial tear injuries of the ankle joint among athletes. Utilizing a single-group pretest-posttest experimental design, the study involved seven athletes from volleyball and handball clubs in Baghdad. Pain levels and range of motion were measured pre- and post-intervention using specialized equipment. Statistical analysis was conducted using the SPSS software to evaluate the impact of the rehabilitation exercises. The findings revealed significant improvements in both pain levels and range of motion post-intervention. Specifically, pain scores decreased significantly across all measured variables, with dorsiflexion pain reducing from a mean of ۷.۴۰ to ۱.۲۰, and plantar flexion pain from ۸.۴۰ to ۱.۴۰ (p < ۰.۰۰۱). Additionally, range of motion improvements were observed, with plantar flexion increasing from ۲۷.۲۰ degrees to ۴۱.۴۰ degrees, and dorsiflexion from ۹.۸۰ degrees to ۱۸.۴۰ degrees (p < ۰.۰۰۱). These results underscore the effectiveness of the proposed rehabilitation exercises in alleviating pain and enhancing the functional mobility of the ankle joint. The structured rehabilitation program, which included elastic resistance training, was pivotal in achieving these outcomes. The study concludes that targeted rehabilitative exercises significantly improve recovery outcomes for athletes with grade I partial tears of the ankle ligament. Future research should explore the long-term effects of these protocols and their application to broader athletic populations. The integration of advanced rehabilitation technologies may further enhance recovery and prevent injury recurrence.
