The rise of social media has revolutionized public recognition, enabling individuals to achieve global influence without traditional gatekeepers. This study, "Influencers and Followers: The Effect of Social Media Personalities on Users' Life Quality," explores the extensive impact of social media influencers on their followers' well-being. Focusing on platforms like Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Twitter, this research employs a mixed-methods approach to quantify effects on mental health, self-esteem, and overall life satisfaction. Positive influences include inspiration, skill development, and community building, while negative impacts involve unrealistic comparisons, mental health issues, and manipulative advertising practices. Key mechanisms of influence—such as content characteristics, influencer attributes, and interaction frequency—are examined alongside demographic mediators like age, gender, socio-economic status, and cultural background. The study offers recommendations for users, parents, educators, and policymakers to maximize benefits and mitigate harms. By fostering critical thinking, promoting media literacy, and encouraging ethical marketing, stakeholders can enhance the positive impact of social media influencers. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the influencer-follower dynamic, aiming to inform strategies for improving the life quality of social media users.
