Background: One of the problems of mental health is infertilitythat has a stressful impact on both partners, with adverse effectson mental health of infertile women. Spirituality is a positive,meaning-based strategy that can help infertile women copingwith infertility stress, protecting them against its complications.No study has investigated the relationship of infertility-relatedstress with spiritual health in infertile women.Materials and Methods: The present study has employed correlationalmethodology. The study population comprised ۴۰۰infertile women referred to Shahid Mottahari treatment andeducational center, Urmia, Between January and December۲۰۱۷, ۴۰۰ infertile women starting their first fertility treatmentat Shahid Mottahari treatment and educational center, Urmia,Iran were recruited. The study sampling was purposeful. As sessment tools used in this study were as follows: A self-reportingquestionnaire, containing the (Spiritual Well-Being Scale;SWBS), by Paloutzian & Ellison, Newton infertility stressquestionnaire, and demographic questionnaire. Participantscompleted self-report of spirituality, infertility-related stress,and their demographic characteristics. For statistical analysis,we used test correlation coefficients of data, multiple regressionanalysis, and logistic regression.Results: There was a meaningful significance of women’s spiritualitywellbeing on their own their infertility-related stress(۰.۰۴۳). Moreover, the direct effect of age and level of economicsituation on their spirituality wellbeing was significant(P= ۰.۱۷, ۰.۰۶). There were not significant effects of marriageduration and educational level on women’s spirituality as wellas on their infertility-related-stress (P= ۰.۲۲, ۰.۷۵).Conclusion: Findings highlight the importance of a baselineassessment of spirituality as a personal resource that infertilewomen might use to overcome the aversive effects of infertility.Nursing interventions aimed to encourage spirituality have thepotential to promote treatment by decreasing infertility relatedstress in the clients.
