Evaluation of changes in screening tests in the first trimester of fertility in women with polycystic ovary syndrome

Introduction: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of themost common endocrine diseases among women in reproductiveages. Its prevalence in various studies is ۵-۱۰%. Serum levelsof both fβ-HCG and PAPP-A are closely related to decayingand pairing processes. Arterial vascular changes as a result ofendothelial damage in pregnant women without PCOS are reportedin several reports. In addition to endothelial damage, thedisorder of the decidua trophoblast attack is seen in endometrialspiral arteries and muscle, which is related to the failure of thepairs. It can be concluded that these changes are seen in patientswith PCOS.Methods: This study is a review study after searching in databasessuch as Proquest, Scopus, Springer and Science DirectPubMed, google scholar with keywords such as PCOS and firsttrimester screening tests and pregnancy. ۱۰ full text articlespublished between ۲۰۰۴ and ۲۰۱۶ was obtained.Results: In studies, high levels of BHCG have been seen in thegroup with pcos compared with the control group, while in otherstudies, PAPP-A and BHCG in the PCOS group were significantlylower than those in the control group But in all studies,there was no difference between the two groups in terms of NT.Discussion: Generally, the level of biochemical compounds inthe first trimester of pregnancy has been altered in women withPCOS, but there is a need for more extensive studies in thisregard. Since the above study did not have the same, successfulinternal and external study, currently, screening for these patientsis not recommended, so further studies are recommended.
