Effect of Vitamin C Supplementation on The Levels of Related Hormones in Infertile Women with PolycysticOvary Syndrome in Shiraz City

چکیده مقاله:

Background: Infertility is one of the most problems in theworld today. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a commoncause of infertility in women. Vitamin C as a single chain antioxidantcan stop the release of peroxidation processes in thebody and increase of progesterone level as well as increase theeffect of Clomiphene on ovary. This study aimed to determinethe effectiveness of vitamin c in a balanced diet on the levels ofrelated hormones in infertile women with Hay-polycystic ovarysyndrome in Shiraz city.Materials and Methods: This study was a randomized clinical trial (RCT) , double-blind cross-over between ۲۰۱۲-۲۰۱۳ infertilewomen with PCO were performed on ۵۶ randomly into twogroups, A, B, were carried out. Screening samples from infertilepatients with PCO groups with the criterion of three criteria: theRotterdam study and experiments, FSH, Testosterone, Progesterone,Estradiol primarily carried out and then the course of ۲months of placebo (B) and Vitamin C (A) the tests were given۳ times a month before and ۲ months after the first interventionwas performed and the results were evaluated in both groups.Results: In the group treated with vitamin A and C in the firststage of the hormones FSH, estradiol, and more Testosteronetreatment group B increased, but not statistically significant.Also, the effect of treatment with hormones FSH, Testosterone,Progesterone, and Estradiol was found that the amount of drugeffect is not significant.Conclusion: The findings of this study showed that vitamin Ccan cause changes in the levels of certain hormones, but hormoneshave no effect on the comparison of the mean scores.
