چکیده مقاله:
Background: Endometriosis is a chronic and prevalent diseasein the world in which endometrium and endometrial stroma arefound outside the uterus cavity. The presence of this tissue invarious parts of the body causes various symptoms that havean adverse effect on women's quality of life, fertility and productivity. In this study, we reviewed the relationship betweenlifestyle and endometriosis.Materials and Methods: This study is an analytical study andcase-control. Sampling method In this study, easy samplingwas performed in all infertility women undergoing laparoscopy, case group (with endometriosis) and control group (withoutendometriosis) in this study. The sample size according tothe Cochran formula has been estimated in each group of ۱۲۵cases. The data collection tool is a demographic questionnaireincluding sex, body mass index, education, menstruation disciplineand occupational status (type of shift). And the Standardlifestyle questionnaire is questionable in three areas: nutrition, activity, and smoking . Data were analyzed by SPSS softwareversion ۱۶. Quantitative variables were used by t-test and chisquaretest was used to compare qualitative variables. Results: There was a direct and significant relationship betweenthe probability of endometriosis and the high age, education, and regularity of menstruation, so that with the increaseof each of the above variables, the chance of developing thedisease increases. Also, there was a significant and inverse associationbetween endometriosis and body mass index ,whichmeans that with the increase of this variable, the risk of endometriosisin individuals decreases. No significant relationshipwas found between endometriosis and other variables. Thesevariables include: Occupation and lifestyle in the three areas ofactivity - health, nutrition and smoking. Conclusion: Our study suggests that high age, low body massindex , menstrual discipline had a significant relationship withendometriosis in infertile women and any relationship betweenlifestyle and endometriosis was not observed in infertile women.
