چکیده مقاله:
Background: The application of (IVM) oocytes to help clinicalinfertility treatment still remains poor because of developmentalcompetence of oocytes decrease after IVM. Moreover, oocytematuration and fertilization rate are low in vitro matured comparedwith in vivo-matured. The aim of this study was to comparisonof morphometric and morphology oocytes after IVMin patient women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).Materials and Methods: ۳۲ women; ۲۰-۳۵ year-old, undergoingcontrolled ovarian stimulation for ICSI/IVF protocol. Theimmature oocytes (n=۱۰۸) were divided into two groups: thefirst group in normal women (n=۵۴); and the second group inwomen with PCOS (n=۵۴), then directly matured in vitro. After۲۴-۴۸ h of incubation, the oocyte maturation rate, morphometricand morphology characteristics were assessed using imagingby inverted microscope and were compared. Results: There were significant differences in the maturity oocytesafter IVM between normal women and patient womenwith PCOS (P<۰.۰۵). Moreover, the morphometric assessmentrevealed that there were no significant differences in the meanoocytes of total diameters (μm) ( zona thickness (ZPT) + perivitellinespace width (PVS) + cytoplasm (CD) between normalwomen and women with PCOS, ۱۵۶.۳ ± ۶.۸ and ۱۳۷.۷ ± ۹.۹,respectively (P>۰.۰۵). Evaluation of morphological oocytesshowed that morphological abnormalities include vacuolizationand ooplasm granulation were higher than in PCOS womenwhen compared with normal women (P<۰.۰۵). Conclusion: IVM of oocytes in normal women was more successfulthan those in women with PCOS.
