چکیده مقاله:
Background: One of the essential events during fertilizationprocess is the normal acrosome reaction that several factorsmay induce the premature acrosome reaction. Also, bacterialsemen infection is an important problem in the pathophysiologyof human subfertility/infertility. Therefore, this study was planned to assay whether bacteriospermia could increase prematurereacted acrosome rate of semen samples from infertilemen.Materials and Methods: In this research, ۷۰ semen samplesfrom infertile men undergoing assisted reproductive treatmentwere collected and microbiological analysis of semen sampleswas performed within ۱ hour after ejaculation from ۲۰۱۷to ۲۰۱۸. The acrosome reaction and viability of spermatozoawere assessed by the triple staining technique. The percentageof spermatozoa with reacted acrosome was evaluated for eachsample, and analyzed using SPSS software. Results: Overall, ۴۰.۴% of studied samples were infected withbacteriospermia (such as E. Coli, Staphylococcus saprophyticus,etc.). The results show that the semen samples infectedwith bacteria had significantly more spermatozoa with reactedacrosomes and dead spermatozoa (P< ۰.۰۵) compared to sampleswithout bacterial infections. Conclusion: It is concluded from this study that one of themost important sperm function such as acrosome reaction areimpaired in men with bacterial infection.
