Background: Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) contains many neurotrophicand growth factors. Due to presence of such factors thisfluid has proliferative and differentiation potential. Maternalsleep deprivation (MSD) decrease number of newborn neuronsin development of hippocampus. Also, impairs hippocampusdependentspatial learning and memory in the young offspring rat. Because, MSD can changes CSF factors, thus in the presentstudy, the effect of MSD on differentiation of mesenchymalstem cells in the presence of neonates brain CSF was examined.Materials and Methods: In this study, bone marrow stem cellswere aspirated from the femur and tibia of young male rats.Then cell suspension cultured in DMEM medium supplementedwith FBS and antibiotic. CSF was collected from cisternamagna of neonates rats. CSF added to culture media with ۱۰%ratio (v/v). Cell viability determined with MTT assay. Total cellularRNA was extracted and cDNA was synthesized and NeuN,Nestin, Neurod۱ genes analyzed.Results: RT-PCR analyze shows that neurogenesis decreasesignificantly with a little function compares to control group.Conclusion: Based on our results, MSD decrease neurogenesisin mesenchymal stem cells, compared to control group. Itseems that MSD can change CSF factors.
