Advanced Therapy and Cognitive Science: Structure and Infrastructure for Having Effective Collaborative Therapy

Background: Innovative therapies e.g. gene therapy, somaticcell therapy, tissue-engineered products, and target drug deliveryare all members of a great family of Advanced TherapyMedicinal Products (ATMPs). In order to make the structure ofATMPs more effective, there is a need for a proper infrastructurein which the cellular, tissue, and organ processes smoothand coordinate their work. Studies show that brain, mind, andits cognitive activities can be considered as such infrastructure.Materials and Methods: In this study, the effect of cognitivescience on having more effective advance therapy is discussed.ATMPs which is presented at different scale can be more effectivewhen it is in the presence of the brain, and mind coordination.Here, we discuss the effect of several cognitive methodsuch as coping and adaptation by the help of cognitive processof having positive thinking and empathy, having adequatesleep, ordering cognitive impairment, cognitive rehabilitation,mind body therapies (MBT), and finally we discuss the effect ofstem cell therapy on the cognitive functions.Results: Result show that ATMPs can be more effective whenit is in the presence of the brain and mind coordination. In otherwords, cognitive process paves the way for having more effectiveadvanced therapy. It has positive effect on cancer curing,changing the sympathetic nervous system activation of genetranscription factors which are involved in immune functionand inflammation, and also it can be considered as a pre-surgicaltreatment.Conclusion: ATMPs as innovative therapies need to be accompaniedwith a therapeutic framework that uses both body andmind. Here, the intersection of ATMPs and cognitive sciencesis studied in order to reach an effective therapy.
