Chal Nakhjir karst formations are mainly developed in Cretaceous limestones (Coniacian to Santonian) and parts of limestone and shale layers of Shamshak Formation (Jurassic). The effective mechanisms on the development of the Chal Nakhjir cave karst network are expressed based on the combined models of tectonics, fault movements and chemical dissolution. This cave has various rock deposits including; they are stalagmite, stalactite, flowstone, drapery, rim stone, popcorn, stars, and calcite. The initial stage of the formation of this karst cave started with the direction and activity of a reverse type of fault, and the compressive forces along the northeast-southwest direction caused the displacement of Cretaceous limestone layers along the fault plane. Erosion regimes have caused the formation of numerous cracks and joints, all of which follow the mentioned fault movements, and in these limestones, they have increased the porosity and secondary permeability of the rock mass. Using Xiong's equation, the development rate of this karst can be calculated.
