چکیده مقاله:

The tectonic structures of the study area in the northern Dezful Embayment show a complex evolution regarding the concurrence of folding, faulting, morphology and halokinetics of Neogene Formations (Najafi et al., ۲۰۱۷; McQuillan, ۱۹۹۱). In this regard, deformation of Neogene Formations in Gotvand – Lali region is investigated here based on field studies and remote-sensing mapping and morphotectonic analysis (Fathizadeh Ramhormozi, ۲۰۱۷). The area is an economically important region regarding the occurrence of three oil fields in addition to the highest storage dam of the country. The location of the study area in the Zagros Active Belt as the most active seismotectonic zone of the country (Berberian, ۱۹۹۵) is another prominent feature of this region. The region is characterized by well-known active faults say Lahbari and Pir-Ahmad thrust faults, a newly introduced tectonic lineament named as Lali-Ahvaz trend and ۱.۵ km thick Miocene Gachsaran evaporites. A thick sequence of Agha Jari, Lahbari and Bakhtyari formations is cropped out in the study area. Neotectonic movements that affected the region are manifested as faulting and folding, deflection of the river courses, rough topography, straight river courses and fault scarps (Oberlander, ۱۹۸۵; Barjasteh, ۲۰۱۷).
