چکیده مقاله:

Inversion of Receiver Functions (RF) stands as a well-established technique for assessing the Swavevelocity structure beneath a seismic station by mapping RFs into a horizontally layered model. The challenge of RF inversion lies in the widely recognized non-uniqueness and non-linearity of thisgeophysical inverse problem, for which diverse tools have been developed to address these issues.Within this context, we introduce a joint inversion framework and a Python package designed forconcurrently inverting RF and the apparent S-wave velocity (VS,app). This implementation significantlyimproves the resolving capability of joint inversion, allowing for S-wave velocity estimation with aresolution comparable to that achieved by deep-controlled source seismic methods. To exemplify theapplication of this approach in different tectonic settings, we demonstrate the inversion applied to areal-data involving three permanent stations situated in the Iranian Plateau, the Indian craton, and theHimalayas.
