چکیده مقاله:

Buckling restrained braces (BRB) can dissipate significant amounts of energy by using the plastic capacity of steel in tension and compression. However, the remaining displacements and permanent deformations after loading make it technically impossible or economically unfeasible to repair and reuse the structure. To solve this problem, studies have been conducted to use shape memory alloy (SMA) in buckling-restrained braces. This alloy can withstand strains up to six percent without leaving residual strain and return the structure to its initial state after unloading. On the other hand, this alloy does not have much ability to dissipate energy, so by combining BRB and SMA, a brace that can simultaneously dissipate energy and eliminate residual strain can be provided. In this research, a brace with a combination of the two mentioned features is presented. According to the results, this brace could reduce the residual strains as well as dissipate mount of energy.
