چکیده مقاله:
This paper explains the results of accident risk evaluation in underground natural gas storagefacilities, providing elements which can be used in the assessment of NaTech resulting from flooding,seismic activity, hydro-geological instability, which can cause one or more technological incidentssuch as fires, explosions and releases. An overview of Italian regulations for the natural gas sector isprovided. The following main themes are developed: structural organization of the company;classification of the substances; industrial safety of the establishments; a methodological approach forrisk analysis assessment with focus on NaTech risk in terms of: preliminary analyses of events,identification of the events and accident scenarios, calculation of consequences; safety and technicalsystems. Finally, the most “critical” parameters are identified because, if they are not adequatelyevaluated, they can lead to invalid results, also taking into account the adoption of the correct safetymeasures for limiting the consequences of an accident.
