چکیده مقاله:

Moment resisting frames are a popular choice for resisting lateral loads due to their high ductilityand architectural flexibility. However, their repair costs after earthquakes can be prohibitive. Toaddress this issue, this study explores the use of replaceable Easy Going Steel (EGS) links in MRFs.EGS is a lower-strength steel with similar elastic properties to conventional steel but greater ductility.Replaceable EGS links are placed at the beam ends of MRFs, where inelastic behavior is expected.Numerical simulations using ABAQUS software show that the EGS frame exhibits similar ductilityand energy dissipation to the conventional MRF, with ۱۳% higher ductility and ۱۰% lower energydissipation. This suggests that EGS frames can serve as a viable alternative to conventional MRFswhile offering a more cost-effective repair solution. Therefore, the use of replaceable EGS linksenhances the resilience and ductility of MRFs, making them a promising option for seismically activeregions.
