This study is focused on the performance of hunchbacked block-type gravity quay walls, isrenowned for their simple construction, durability, and cost-effectiveness in marine projects whensubjected to strong ground shaking. Following the calibration of the FEM model using shaking tableresults, the research explores three quay walls with different hunch heights. The primary focus is toillustrate how hunch shape affects backfill soil performance to understand seismic responses undervarious input motions. The maximum settlement of the backfill surface does not occur directlyadjacent to the hunchbacked gravity quay walls but within a range of ۰.۴۵H to ۰.۶۵H from the walls.Quay walls with higher hunch heights exhibit lower backfill settlement. As base accelerationamplitudes increase, backfill settlement also rises, and reducing input motion frequency leads toincrease backfill settlement.
