Influence of Vancomycin Contents on Handling Properties of Acrylic BoneCements

Addition of antibacterial drugs to acrylic bone cements have been widely paid attention to reduce risk ofperiprosthetic infections. With this regards, it is necessary to evaluate the possible variations in the handlingproperties of bone cements in the presence of the drug. In this study, the effect of vancomycin (Vanco)content on handling properties of PMMA-based bone cements is evaluated. Therefore, poly(methylmethacrylate) (PMMA)-based bone cements are formulated with different contents (۱, ۴ and ۷ % w/w) ofVanco as antibacterial drugs.
