Effect of amyl acetate ester on the performance of PEBA membranes forCO۲ separation

In this work, amyl acetate was added to PEBA (polyether block amid) and membrane containingester groups were made. For the prepared membranes the permeability of CO۲ and N۲ and CO۲/N۲selectivity were measured. The results showed that the amyl acetate contained membrane havebetter performance than the pure membrane. Amyl acetate with its ester groups was able to improvethe CO۲ permeability and CO۲/N۲ selectivity by ۵۶ % and ۵۰ %, respectively, compared to the puremembrane.
