چکیده مقاله:
In this study, the effect of POSS nanoparticles on the rheological behavior of PVC plastisol prepared with twoPVC grades (LP۱۷۰ and PB۱۳۰۲) was investigated using a Brookfield rheometer at different shear rates. Theresults showed that POSS nanoparticles can increase the viscosity of PVC plastisol at low shear rates and decreaseit at high shear rates. The mechanism of action of POSS nanoparticles depends on the PVC grade and shear rate.In the LP۱۷۰ grade, POSS nanoparticles increase viscosity at low shear rates by increasing surface area andcreating crosslinks between polymer chains. At high shear rates, the effect of reduced surface tension and crosslinkingbecomes more prominent. In PB۱۳۰۲ grade, POSS nanoparticles increase viscosity at low shear rates byreducing surface tension. At high shear rates, the effect of reduced surface tension dominates and viscositydecreases significantly. Increasing the concentration of POSS nanoparticles leads to increased viscosity of PVCplastisol at all shear rates. This effect is due to the increase in surface area and crosslinking between PVCparticles. Selecting the appropriate type, concentration of POSS nanoparticles, and PVC grade is essential toachieve the desired rheological properties. This study shows that POSS nanoparticles can be used as nanofillersto modify the rheological properties of PVC plastisol.
