چکیده مقاله:

The aim of study was to prepare a novel poly(amide-sulfone) with improved hydrophilicityproperties. Poly(amide-sulfone) was obtained via condensation of a synthesized diamine with adipoylchloride as a diacid chloride. FTIR and HNMR spectroscopy and melting point were used to confirmchemical structures. Polymer was obtained with a good molecular weight, and a dispersion index of۲.۰۴ has been synthesized. Flexible film of polymer was obtained by solution casting and phaseinversion method. Pure water flux, salt rejection, and flux recovery ratio were also investigated usinga cross-flow filtration system with NaCl as a feed solution. The effect of amide group's existence onpolysulfone chain was studied. The results showed that the presence of amide groups in the mainchain modified the hydrophilicity properties of samples. The hydrophilicity of the membrane wassignificantly enhanced in the poly(amide-sulfone) membrane, and the contact angle value decreasedup to ۱۲.۴۵◦. The filtration performance showed that the water flux and salt rejection were improvedas well as flux recovery ratio. This study would provide insights for the development of novelpoly(amide-sulfone) membranes for desalination applications
