چکیده مقاله:

Natural polysaccharides and proteins have been widely explored for the preparation of hydrogelmatrix due to their promising biocompatibility and biodegradability. However, achieving multiplefunctions of the hydrophilic matrix is challenging through convenient functionalization strategies.Herein, we report the facile engineering of a natural matrix with a polyphenolic fraction of propolisbasednanosheet (PPN) as building blocks to generate therapeutic nanocomposite hydrogel withpromising features. PPNs were modified to improve the mechanical properties of gelatin-basedhydrogels when added to the polymer matrix using methacryloxy propyl trimethoxysilane (MPS) asa coupling agent (PPN@MPS). Bis-imidazolium-based ionic liquid (IL) was prepared and added toPPNs (PPN@MPS-IL) to enhance their antimicrobial properties. Overall, these results demonstratedthat PPN@MPS-ILs could endow the polymer matrix with multiple functions, including increasednetwork stiffness and porosity and enhanced antibacterial and antioxidant properties, which providean efficient therapeutic strategy for tissue engineering.
