Preparation of hydrogels based on alginate modified with imidazolium ionicliquids

In recent years, various types of wound dressings such as membrane, foam, film, and electrospunnanofibers have been studied. Among them, hydrogels have been widely reported due to their highwater content, easy removal, and biocompatibility. The purpose of this research is to prepare a newbiodegradable hydrogel with antibacterial properties with water absorption and high swelling toaccelerate the wound healing process. This hydrogel is alginate modified with imidazolium-basedionic liquids. In this research, for the first time, imidazolium was modified by silane arms on thesurface of alginate so that it can be used for clinical applications and wound healing. The validity ofthe synthesis of this study was proved by ۱H NMR analysis.
