چکیده مقاله:

To use shape memory materials based on poly (lactic acid) (PLA) for many applications it is necessary to reduce theirbrittleness. In this work, the intermixture of di-octyl terephthalate, acting as a plasticizer together with PLA isinvestigated to achieve shape memory polymers for potential engineering applications. The prepared plasticized PLAcontaining different amounts of plasticizer were obtained and studied relating their shape memory performances. Ata temperature of ۷۵ oC, a certain strain was created in the samples and at a temperature of ۰ oC their shape wasstabilized. The amount of shape stabilization and shape recovery was evaluated. The results indicated that there aremany variations in shape recovery with plasticizer concentration in the samples, and the plasticized polylactide canstill act as a shape memory polymer and show abundant potential for applications in engineering and medical fields .
