Investigating the effect of molar ratio of reactants on the mechanicalproperties of thermoplastic polyurethane

In this study, thermoplastic polyurethanes containing the soft segment (polyol polyester) and the hardsegment (hexamethylene diisocyanate and ۱, ۴-butanediol) were synthesized by prepolymer methodwith different molar ratios. In order to investigate the chemical structure and physical properties ofthe synthesized polymers, FTIR and Tensile analysis were used. The tensile analysis resultsconfirmed the increase in modulus and tensile strength and the decrease in elongation with theincrease in the molar ratio of the hard segment
