چکیده مقاله:

In this study, castor oil was utilized for the preparation of water-based polyurethane dispersions usingdimethylol propionic acid (DMPA) as the ion center. Physical and water repellency properties of thesynthesized water-based polyurethane was investigated. The physical properties of WPU films wereinvestigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). results showedthat there are no crystalline structures in the WPU films and the results of the contact angle analysisdemonstrated that the use of castor oil in the synthesis of water-based polyurethane resulted inhydrophobicity. This study offered strategies for physical properties WPUs and paved the waystowards developing high performance coatings applications
