چکیده مقاله:

In this study, lightweight open-cell micro- and nano-cellular poly(lactic acid) (PLA) foams with adensity of ۰.۳ g/cm۳ and cell density of ۱۰۷ cells/cm۳ were fabricated by using a NaCl filler throughthe twin-screw extrusion process. These foams were obtained through the filler leaching method andjust water and table salt were applied to prepare the foams. Highly-filled PLA/NaCl composites witha weight fraction of ۲۰:۸۰ were extruded. Then, the composites were immersed in water and after ۲۴hr, an open-cell cellular structure with a void content of ۷۲% was achieved. These foams were appliedto absorb pollutants like gasoline, diesel fuel, formaldehyde and ammonia. The objective of thisresearch has been the low-cost production of open-cell biodegradable foams for cleaning up marinepollution.
