Synthesis of isobutene polymers using AlCl۳ initiator system containingsulfonated polymer ionic liquid

This article is related to the synthesis and application of polymeric ionic liquid (IL) based onsulfonated polyvinylimidazole. For the synthesis of the above ionic liquid, azobisisobutyronitrile wasused as the initiator of the polymerization reaction. The synthetic polymer was subjected tosulfonation reaction with chlorosulfonic acid to obtain the final polymeric ionic liquid. Next, thesynthesized ionic liquid was used in the synthesis of isobutene polymers with low molecular weightalong with AlCl۳. To confirm the synthesis of ionic liquid, FT-IR spectroscopy and to check thecorrectness of the ionic liquid in the polymerization reaction, the microstructure of the polymers wasused with H_NMR and GPC analyses
