Study of initiator concentration on the degree of GMA grafting for highdensitypolyethylene

enhance the polarity of polyethylene, it can be grafted with polar agents. In this work, polyethylene has been graftedwith glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) as grafting agent and Bis(tert-butylperoxy isopropyl)Benzene (BIPB) as initiatorby reactive extrusion method. The grafted samples have been characterized by Fourier transform infraredspectroscopy (FTIR). The results show that increase of GMA up to ۱۰ wt.%, can improve grafting degree, whilethe optimum amount of BIPB is ۰.۶ wt.%.
