Delving into mechanism of self-reporting coatings based on color changingmechanism

The current research aims to propose a simple method to detect the corrosion phenomenon of mildsteel from the earlier stages. To this aim different corrosion stages are simulated using differentsolutions of sensors prepared at different pH conditions. Using the photography of samples underD۶۵ standard Illuminant and UV condition, it was found that the color appearance of samplesunderwent changes with the alteration of pH. Reasonably, the color changes of samples may revealthe corrosion of metal surface from the earlier stages. This method could be considered as a nondestructivetechnique that does not need to a laboratory or special equipments.
