چکیده مقاله:
Using plastic waste can be a valuable way to protect the environment, reduce plastic pollution andrealize circular economy. Polypropylene (PP) is one of the most widely used and most consumedplastics, and the disposal of its solid waste, as one of the most consumed plastics has become agrowing problem all over the world. Waste from PP, like other plastics, is often mixed. One of themost common polymers used next to PP are polyesters. One approach for mechanical recycling ofPP/PET is making thermoplastic composites. However, due to the difference in chemical structureand polarity, these two polymers are incompatible and their composition is immiscible. one of themost common compatibilizers is PP-g-MAH. In this study, PET fibers have been used asreinforcement with the combination of different percentages (۱۰-۴۰wt%) for the PP matrix. Creatingcompatibility was done in two ways: In the first method, PP-g-MAH was first prepared in a solidstate and then added to the PP/PET composite. In the second method, during PP/PET compounding,MAH was added to the compound along with the initiator. The experiment and analysis of the resultsindicated that the PP/PET composite with the addition of compatibilizers has better mechanicalproperties than without compatibilizers. Also, the first method brought us superior mechanicalproperties compared to the second method, which indicates the greater compatibility of these twopolymers.
