Preparation of Multifunctional Quaternary Composite ofPVP/PVA/QCS/DEX Hydrogel as a Promising Wound Dressing

This study focuses on integration of poly vinyl pyrrolidone (PVP), poly vinyl alcohol (PVA),quaternized chitosan (QCS), and dextran (DEX) to prepare a quaternary composite(PVP/PVA/QCS/DEX) as a wound dressing hydrogel through freez-drying technique with varyingconcentration of PVP and DEX. The uniform and interconnected porous structure of the samples wasconfirmed by the SEM results. All the samples showed high water vapor transition rate (WVTR)ranging from ۲۵۰۰-۳۰۰۰ g m-۲ day-۱. The prepared hydrogels showed increased cell viability withincreased content of PVP. The scrath assay indicated the promoted cell migration and acceleratedwound healing process
