Influence of DCP content as a curing agent on the shape memory behaviourof thermoplastic vulcanized PLA/NBR

In the present study, the effect of DCP content on the shape memory behavior of thermoresponsivethermoplastic vulcanizate PLA/NBR shape memory system has been investigated as a function ۱.۲,۱.۵, and ۱.۸ phr of DCP. According to the results, the shape recovery showed a decrement as aconsequence of DCP increment as well as a higher shape recovery rate was observed for the samplecontaining the lowest amount of DCP. Moreover, The shape fixity only changed slightly in the samplewith ۱.۲ phr DCP which was a result of higher conformational recovery driving dorce. The reductionof shape recovery as a function of DCP content increment was hypothesized as a consequence of hightemperature and high content of DCP followed by degradation. This hypothesis was along with thetorque measurement during the processing.
