Effect of Copper Metal on the Thermal Properties of Heterocyclic SchiffBase Polyesters

The aim of this paper is to investigate the effect of nano-sized particles on the thermal properties ofheterocyclic Schiff base polyesters. These polymers find applications in various industries such aselectronics, aerospace, household goods, etc., due to their high strength-to-weight ratio, excellentthermal stability, sound insulation properties, and other valuable characteristics. To synthesize thesepolymers, the desired diol is first synthesized with a specific precursor, Schiff base heterocyclic(diol), which reacts with a basic acid (diacid) via phase transfer polymerization to produce thetargeted polyester. By adding ۳% copper particles to the structure, physical properties such as thermalproperties can be measured, and the resulting compounds are characterized using techniques such asIR, NMR, and TGA.
