Investigation of the effect of the reactive diluent on the curing kinetics ofepoxy-based resins

The influence of di-functional epoxy reactive diluent, ۱,۴-butanediol diglycidyl ether (BD), in themixtures with diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) and mannich base curing agent (CA) on thecuring of a matrix was investigated in this work. The reactive BD has an excellent dilution effect onepoxy resins. The curing reaction kinetics process of an DGEBA/CA/BD epoxy system was studiedby non- isothermal differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) method. The kinetics parameters arecalculated by using the Kissinger model, Crnae model, and Ozawa model, respectively.
