چکیده مقاله:

Acrylic bone cement is a fine powder based on polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), which issynthesized through suspension polymerization. The particle size, particle size distribution, andmolecular weight of PMMA powder are crucial characteristics of this product, significantlyinfluencing its final properties. Achieving the desired molecular weight, particle size and particlesize distribution requires precise adjustment of the type and concentration of the initiator, stabilizers, alongside geometric parameters related to the reactor and agitation speed as well. In thiswork, PMMA beads were synthetized and the initiator concentration was optimized to attain theappropriate molecular weight. The effect of mixing speed which leads to a product with particlesizes below ۵۰ microns was also studied.
