چکیده مقاله:

The quality of toners in digital electrophotographic printing can be developed by conducting moretrials during toner manufacturing. Fine-tuning toner properties is a highly challenging task due to thecomplex individual and interactive effects of material parameters such as monomer ratios, surfactantand colorant dosages. In this work, a series of toner composite powders were systematicallysynthesized through an emulsion copolymerization process. A Response surface methodology (RSM)and a genetic algorithm-based (GA) computer code approach were proposed for the first time forMulti-objective optimization (MOO) of in-situ emulsion polymerized tonercomposites which enables fine-tuning of toner properties. Different analyses were carried out todetermine the best material formulations of toner composite, namely particle size (PS), particle sizedistribution (PSD), reaction conversion (%), and thermal and colorimetric properties (ΔE). Thedeveloped methods demonstrated the nonlinear behavior of polymerization and generalized thepolymerization solutions by which printing toners with acceptable characteristics could be produced.
