Investigating and comparing the physical characteristics of LDPE/EPDMand LDPE/EVA compounds with the aim of improving impact resistance

EPDM rubber particles were added to low-density polyethylene injection in percentages of ۱, ۲, ۳,and ۴ to increase toughness and improve impact resistance, an essential property in the automobileindustry. Then, by examining the results of the tensile and impact tests for the prepared samples, itwas observed that the sample with ۴% EPDM with an increase in length at the breaking point of۱۱۶% and an impact resistance of ۸.۲۵ kJ/m۲ has the highest toughness. Also, by adding EVA withthe same percentage to polyethylene, LDPE/EVA compounds showed a maximum length increase of۶۰% and an impact resistance of ۳.۶۶ kJ/m۲. As a result, LDPE/EPDM compounds have better impactresistance than LDPE/EVA.
