Effect of alcohol and surfactant on support in MgCl۲-supportedZiegler–Natta catalysts

Several factors influencing on polymer morphology can be controlled using heterogeneous Ziegler-Natta catalyst. The most important factor is the morphology of the catalyst particles replicate fromits support; therefore, particle size distribution (PSD) of the support could be key factors in the fieldof heterogeneous Ziegler-Natta catalyst. In this article, the effect of [EtOH]/[MgCl۲] molar ratio andSPAN ۶۵ as surfactant, on the particle size of the support were studied. The results indicated thatwith increasing [EtOH]/[MgCl۲] molar ratio, the support will be have a narrow particle sizedistribution. Futhermore, the increasing surfactant showed influence on the particle size distributionof support.
