Revolutionizing Education through the Metaverse: Opportunities and Challenges

The metaverse, a convergence of virtual and real worlds, offers transformative potential for education by creating immersive, interactive, and personalized learning experiences. This systematic review investigates the metaverse's impact on education, examining its benefits, challenges, and future prospects. Utilizing PRISMA guidelines, we analyzed literature from ۲۰۱۹ to ۲۰۲۴, focusing on the metaverse's role in enhancing student engagement, accessibility, and practical learning through virtual simulations. Our findings indicate significant improvements in educational outcomes, although issues such as privacy, cybersecurity, and the digital divide require attention. This paper discusses the evolution of metaverse applications in education and offers recommendations for effective integration and future research.
