چکیده مقاله:

This article studied Reactivity Controlled Compression Ignition (RCCI) engine performance and emissions in comparison to conventional diesel engine. For this purpose, the OM-۳۵۵ diesel engine was simulated using computational fluid dynamics. Various blend ratios of natural gas and diesel were usedin this simulation. The simulation results were validated by the experimental results of the engine. The results of this research shown that from theemissions aspect, the ۷۰% NG mix is a desirable fuel ratio for full load RCCI OM-۳۵۵ engine in ۱۶۰۰ rpm operation. At this fuel ratio, the carbonmonoxide levels are at an acceptable level, however the unburned hydrocarbons are twice as their optimum amount at ۵۰% NG, but even so this amountis ۶۵% less than conventional diesel engine. By increasing NG from ۰% to ۵۰%, soot and nitrogen oxides are reduced and beyond ۵۰%, the soot emissionrate becomes smoothly, but the nitrogen oxide emission rate curve becomes steeper, and at ۷۰% NG, ۷۲% reduction in soot emissions and an ۸۳% reductionin nitrogen oxide emissions are observed.
