چکیده مقاله:

This study delves into stress concentration factors (SCFs) and fatigue life in tubular T-joints reinforced with an external ring under in-plane bending moment (IPB). Following validation of the FE model with experimental data, a series of ۵۲ ۳D FE models were generated and analyzed to explore the impact of ring and joint geometry on SCF and SCF ratios. The results indicate a remarkable reduction of ۷۱% in the SCF of T-joints with an external ring compared to the SCF of the corresponding unreinforced joint. This reduction in stress concentration factor can significantly enhance the fatigue life of the connection, up to ۲.۷۹ times. Moreover, increasing the ring thickness and width contributes to further decreases in SCFs. These findings underscore the potential for substantial improvements in structural performance and longevity through the strategic implementation of external ring reinforcement.
