چکیده مقاله:

Dust phenomenon as one of the climatic components and surface roughness in arid and semi-arid regions isone of the most important environmental problems. Soil erosion by wind is worse in arid and semiarid regions.Wind erosion is a serious problem on agriculture lands, cultivated organic soils, sandy coastal areas, alluvialsoils along river bottoms, and other areas. The phenomenon is controlled by increasing the resistance of soils using chemical, physical and biologicalmethods. Due to the high cost and environmental issues of some techniques such as microbial and petroleummethods, the use of alternative stabilization methods is inevitable. One of the most promising methods to besubstitute as a construction material is calcium carbonate precipitation (MICP/EICP) through the applicationof bacteria and cementation solution with various purpose of soil properties improvement, including strengthand stiffness, liquefaction resistance, wind/water erosion control, and permeability. Hence, the present paperreview the MICP technology with the specific focus on sand fixation and dust control. Moreover, someeffective factors for increasing the efficiency of the technology as well as its impact on soil strength paramentswere also reviewed.
