Factors Affecting Elastic Properties in Organic-rich Shales

The excessive use of non-renewable hydrocarbon resources has led to their rapid depletion. Therefore, it is essential to seek alternative sources of energy. The reduction of conventional hydrocarbon resources and the increasing prices of oil and gas have highlighted the importance of studying and utilizing unconventional resources, particularly organic-rich shales. Understanding the elastic properties of these resources is crucial for their effective utilization. This review summarizes the latest studies on the factors affecting the elastic properties of organic-rich shales.
