چکیده مقاله:

In this research, we established the potential of unmodified graphene oxide as dye adsorbentsby utilizing both electrostatic attraction and strong π−π interaction on the surface graphene oxidesuspension was synthesized through a modified hummer method, and used to remove some dyes:methylene blue, methyl violet, methyl orange and malachite green, which are main contaminantsfrom the dye manufacturing and textile finishing. The efficiency and speed of dye adsorption ona GO was investigated under various parameters such as contact time, temperature, and pH. Theinitial adsorption process shows that above ۹۵% of dyes, except malachite green, have beenremoved in distilled water and the equilibrium status has been reached in less than ۲ min. Theunmodified GO has demonstrated its high capability as an organic dye scavenger with high speedand efficiency. Considering the great simplicity and no need for time-consuming methods ofmodification using expensive and sometimes polluting materials and techniques, it seems that inthe initial stages of wastewater treatment of textile industries, it is best to use unmodifiedgraphene oxide.
